Seconding recommendation of Pushover. Just Works(tm), with a lot of control over various bits and pieces. Pricing model is wonderful (one-time payment). Use PagerDuty et al if you need a more "complete" solution or have complex needs. -- | Jeremy Chadwick jdc@koitsu.org | | UNIX Systems Administrator PGP 0x2A389531 | | Making life hard for others since 1977. | On Mon, Jul 21, 2025 at 09:49:49AM -0700, Andrew Kraut via Outages-discussion wrote:
Check out Pushover.net. I've been using it for a few years for things. There's plenty of scripts for native integrations, but a simple email to notification is really easy. And you can even create ones that require pushing an Acknowledgement button to stop them from sounding.

With AT&T discontinuing their Email to SMS bridge and the others getting somewhat unreliable, what methods are people using to get alerts from their NMS and SNMP and other monitoring services and devices to make their phones squawk when something dies?
If I could trust my phone's gmail client to reliably notify me I might go that route, but as one of my co-workers put it, "it goes in waves."
