Dictionary definitions are not inherently political. The word “megalomaniac" fits Elon Musk to a T—even when you don’t take his politics into account.
- Merriam-Webster: a mania for great or grandiose performance
- Cambridge Dictionary: someone who has an unnaturally strong wish for power and control, or thinks that they are much more important and powerful than they really are.
- Wiktionary: megalomania is an obsession with power, wealth, fame, and a passion for grand schemes.
Elon Musk has a known history of megalomania for nearly two decades including his work at Paypal, Tesla, The Boring Company, Hyperloop, and SpaceX / StarLink.
