I once asked Jennifer Tejada (CEO of PagerDuty) how they get paged when PagerDuty goes down.  it was a serious question. She paused awkwardly for a moment, then solemnly said “Pager Duty does *not* go down.”     Obviously the following week, PagerDuty went down.   I later asked one of their engineers the same question and they said very reasonably, “call tree.” Not knocking Jennifer or PD; she was about a week into the gig, and PD is an excellent product.
