Hi all, Outsourced NOC tech here. If you're experiencing issues, there is apparently a HUGE fiber cut on Level 3 fibers near Odell, IL. Investigations indicated the fault is approximately 1.4 miles from the site. There is a construction crew performing work along the railroad track that is likely to have damaged a Level 3 fiber cable. Field Services are working to pinpoint the damage point within the construction area for further evaluation. There is known railroad construction in that area that is suspected to be the cause of fiber damage. Further investigation is ongoing to determine the exact failure point and cause. An ETA of 17:30 GMT has been provided. A splice crew has already been engaged to be available for repairs. I'll continue to try to keep everyone apprised.
