Google 8.8.8.8 (next hop after 172.253.71.199) dropped out of pings from my AS 16:28:21-16:28:53 17:42:06-17:43:13 which is very unusual. 1.1.1.1 and other internet destinations were fine at the time so sounds like a google problem, we peer directly with AS15169 at telehouse west I believe.
From BT, 8.8.8.8 appears behind 172.253.65.211, and no loss at all (well 1 lost packet at 12:09:06 GMT)
No DNS lookup issues, but even if 8.8.8.8 was being used and became unreachable, dns would fail over to at alternate one. ________________________________ From: Outages [outages-bounces@outages.org] on behalf of Bill Woodcock via Outages [outages@outages.org] Sent: 17 March 2021 17:59 To: Jason Cc: outages@outages.org Subject: Re: [outages] DNS resolution in Europe On Mar 17, 2021, at 6:47 PM, Jason via Outages <outages@outages.org<mailto:outages@outages.org>> wrote: We are getting alerted that URLs are not reachable from London, UK.
