
Looks like the loss just cleared at ~12:38pm EST: [image: image.png] It should be noted that this seemed to impact not just FiOS users, but the entire Verizon ALTER.NET backbone network. The graph above is for a Verizon ADSL circuit, proving that was also impacted. I imagine Verizon Wireless was similarly affected. Let's hope it stays fixed. Worst FiOS outage in a few years now. The DC-region has had a ton of ALTER.Net backbone trouble since the pandemic began, but it usually only impacts a few peers at a time. This one is massive and seems to originate within ALTER.Net itself, not at any peering hand-off.
Fun day! At least Azure paths seem unaffected.
