Type of Work: Ushahidi plaform upgrade from 2.5 to 2.6.1. Purpose: To address bug fixes. Start Date / Time: 12/7/2012 (Friday) 12:00PM PST End Date / Time: 12/7/2012 (Friday) 14:00 PST Should additional time be required, notice will be provided and the work window will be expanded. Estimate Downtime: tracker.outages.org will be down 2 hours Reason For Maintenance: Ushahidi platform will undergo upgrade from 2.5 to 2.6.1 to address bug fixes. Service Impact: tracker.outages.org will not be available during this change window nor users will receive any alert notifications during this change. Service will return back to normal after this upgrade. Steps for this upgrade: --------------------- 1. Backup DB & filesystem (mysqldump / tar working directory) 2. wget ushahidi from github repository 3. Copy old config back over the new ones. 4. Update config.php, database.php, auth.php as necessary to match previous configuration details. 5. Upgrade database Regression Planning: There is a possibility that something unexpected may occur during the work process. Should any issues arise, all equipment will be placed back into standard operation and the work will be postponed until the issue is resolved. regards, /virendra
