Once the scene is released by the fire department, the New York City Subway system will begin cleaning the area from an environmental standpoint before other utility providers will be granted access to begin repairs. The New York City Fire Department is on scene working to put the fire out and make the area safe for onsite personnel. The Outside Plant Engineer (OSPE) has been engaged and is working to develop a repair plan while personnel wait for the site to be deemed safe.
