FWIW, just had someone report they are unable to send E-Mail using Gmail w/Thunderbird. I investigated, discovered they cannot connect to smtp.gmail.com (on either port 465 or 587). This was using an AT&T DSL connection near Atlanta, GA. I am able to hit smtp.gmail.com from other places just fine, though.
Possibly related?

We've been noticing issues for the past hour accessing Google's sites. Sluggish responses mostly.
Other sites are fine. We connect through Level3 and Bell Canada.
