Hey Kurt. We had a Lumen circuit drop at 0530 UTC on Friday Jan 30. Explanation was as follows: Cause The root cause of the outage was identified as a fiber issue within a local provider's network in Poland, IN. The fault was attributed to frozen conduits housed within steel pipelines under a lake, which resulted in significant damage to the fiber cable due to water expansion. Reports at the time from Lumen indicated that the snow + cold weather made the site basically impossible to access. They resolved our issue by migrating our leased lines to an alternative path/fibre provider. We resolved late that evening, but I suspect Lumen has more capacity for rerouting circuits than Zito might. Can't say 100% this is your cause but basic geography + timeline seem plausible. Looks like a bunch of different providers had circuits on that fibre bundle. Does anyone have any insight on what is going on with Zito Media? Their residential service had a multi-state outage starting Friday and has just started to normalize as of this morning. Their customer service has only said that the issue was a circuit going down and that they are apparently now using a third party provider in order to provide internet access, with no fix in sight. ______________________________________________ Outages mailing list outages@outages.org Sign up for an account https://lists.outages.org/accounts/signup/ To subscribe send an email to outages-join@outages.org To unsubscribe send an email to outages-leave@outages.org To contact the list owners outages-owner@outages.org Archives https://lists.outages.org/archives/list/outages@outages.org/
