I reported an outage with China Telecom Americas yesterday starting at 10am EST. They resolved it at 11pm EST and explained that fiber was cut with one of their backhaul providers somewhere near Denver. Probably the same issue you had… “Please kindly be informed that our local vendor feedback: The issue was due to a fiber cut between Denver and Aurora. Field Services uses an existing, alternate fiber cable to complete splice repairs as temporary solution. A permanent fix will be scheduled and communicated accordingly. The NOC has verified that alarms are cleared and the Technical Service Center has validated affected customers. Would you please confirm the current circuit status? Sorry for any inconvenience caused and thanks for your understanding.” -Mike From: Outages [mailto:outages-bounces@outages.org] On Behalf Of David Thompson via Outages Sent: Friday, February 26, 2016 11:40 AM To: outages@outages.org Subject: [outages] Telia Reports of Fibercut in Denver? I was told that yesterday there was a fiber cut in Denver that effected all traffic going from the west coast to the east coast on the Telia backbone. Did anyone receive a notification of this? I have zero carrier relationship with them and had to rely upon a third party to report this to me and it took them more than a day to tell me.
