Large-area Comcast failure in Northeastern Illinois. Fiber circuits have been down for about a half hour. Spoke with their tech support, they indicate a failed XFP unit, no time to restore given yet. Support guesses we should expect something in the 3-hour-plus range. Tks, R. The update is below and based on the update you guys may go down for a few mins when perm fix is in place so just a heads up on that. have a wonderful day!
Headend tech replaced fiber optics with a temporary fiber at the headend to restore customers.
A permanent fix will take place now.
