Slowness to Akamai servers in NY for Apple Store updates

We are getting reports here at McGill University that users are having issues reaching the Apple App store and actually getting timeout messages.
From our traces, it seems that the traffic is going through Hurricane and then Telia before it reaches Akamai.
Is anyone else on the East Coast noticing any slowdowns like this? Can anyone from Apple or Akamai confirm if there are any issues? Here is a traceroute to one of the servers we have slowdowns with: Tracing the route to 23.78.208.56 VRF info: (vrf in name/id, vrf out name/id) 1 216.66.110.108 14 msec 14 msec 13 msec 2 209.51.172.25 13 msec 15 msec 13 msec 3 213.248.101.145 18 msec 13 msec 14 msec 4 213.248.88.206 15 msec 15 msec 14 msec 5 89.149.128.202 19 msec 89.149.128.126 23 msec 141.136.110.154 20 msec 6 69.174.3.218 22 msec 25 msec 72 msec 7 * * * And the BGP info for this IP ferrier-internet%Vtel#sh ip bgp 23.78.208.56 BGP routing table entry for 15318:3:23.78.208.0/22, version 13644907 Paths: (4 available, best #1, table Vtel) Advertised to update-groups: 1 Refresh Epoch 1 17356 6939 6939 6939 1299 3257 20940 20940 16625 216.66.110.108 (via vrf Vtel) from 216.66.110.108 (216.66.108.4) Origin IGP, localpref 200, valid, external, best Community: 17356:7 Extended Community: RT:15318:3 rx pathid: 0, tx pathid: 0x0 Thanks

No issues here (AS5645 Toronto) but seems strange you are going that far to get Akamai content …. Would have thought you would be served by closer nodes… From: Outages <outages-bounces@outages.org> on behalf of Zachary McGibbon via Outages <outages@outages.org> Reply-To: Zachary McGibbon <zachary.mcgibbon+outages@gmail.com> Date: Friday, September 7, 2018 at 1:28 PM To: <outages@outages.org> Subject: [outages] Slowness to Akamai servers in NY for Apple Store updates We are getting reports here at McGill University that users are having issues reaching the Apple App store and actually getting timeout messages.
