RoadRunner Tampa Bay wide area backbone outage. Anybody got anything?
A little bird told me that "Hub27" was "hard down" in Auburndale, FL, and that there was "no estimate to restoral of service". This appears to impact customers in Tampa Bay (Clearwater, St. Pete, Tarpon, etc), as well as customers in WinterHaven in Orlando.
There have also been tweets of other impacted services, such as an AT&T audio trunk peering that is impacting their customer service lines. Because of this, reaching anyone at BrightHouse is hit-or-miss right now, as their phone systems may be impacted by this outage as well.
That being said, there are many reports on twitter of folks getting BrightHouse back temporarily and then losing connectivity again. My guess would be active troubleshooting on the part of BrightHouse to restore service.
We are still hard-down here at our office in Clearwater. Thankfully, there are other paths out of our HQ network, and our production cores are hosted at Equinix.
