San Diego Gas and Electric is saying on Twitter that "all" of their customers are without power. Possibly through Friday. The website just has a block of text that says: "There’s a major power outage in the region. SDG&E crews are working as quickly and safely as possible. We don’t have an estimated restoration time. The power could be out through the night and into tomorrow. The outage has affected street lights. Please drive safely and treat the street lights as a four-way stop. If you have a personal family emergency plan, please activate it now." ~Seth

Arizona says oops: "The outage appears to be related to a procedure an APS employee was carrying out in the North Gila substation, which is located northeast of Yuma. Operating and protection protocols typically would have isolated the resulting outage to the Yuma area. The reason that did not occur in this case will be the focal point of the investigation into the event, which already is under way." http://www.aps.com/main/news/releases/release_673.html ~Seth

Can anyone confirm if any data centers in the impacted grid zone actually went down? -----Original Message----- From: outages-bounces@outages.org [mailto:outages-bounces@outages.org] On Behalf Of Seth Mattinen Sent: Thursday, September 08, 2011 8:17 PM To: outages@outages.org Subject: Re: [outages] widespread power outages across san diego county. My DC's were up. RedIT on Aero Drive in San Diego was up as well as the RedIT World Trade facility in Rancho Bernardo.
