Zayo (Abovenet) reported that they lost cooling capacity on the 7th floor and will be shutting down non essential equipment. Temps are at 93 degrees. They said they may also start downing redundant services if things get worse. I'm aware it's an airport code, but those tend to be used in the general region of an airport so it's not always super specific as to an exact location. The "5" also implies they have multiple facilities in that same general area. -Bill

Ah, you wanted something more precise than state. :-) Yeah, sorry, I'm not sure what the physical location of the lga5 site is. -- | Jeremy Chadwick jdc@koitsu.org | | UNIX Systems Administrator http://jdc.koitsu.org/ | | Mountain View, CA, US | | Making life hard for others since 1977. They tell me that their LGA5 facility *is* the 111 8th street location. -Bill

Expect to see some reduction in capacity (and possible packet loss) through there, they've discussed shutting down redundant elements to reduce heat load. They have a 2MW generator trucking in from Jersey they plan to hook up to get cooling back up and running but it's another 3-4 hours out. Temperatures are above 100 in the space according to [1] 1: http://www.zayo.com/emergency-response ~Matt On Nov 1, 2012, at 1:31 PM, Bill Wichers <billw@waveform.net<mailto:billw@waveform.net>> wrote: They tell me that their LGA5 facility *is* the 111 8th street location. -Bill -----Original Message----- From: outages-bounces@outages.org<mailto:outages-bounces@outages.org> [mailto:outages-bounces@outages.org<mailto:bounces@outages.org>] On Behalf Of Bill Wichers Sent: Thursday, November 01, 2012 1:03 PM To: Jeremy Chadwick Cc: outages@outages.org<mailto:outages@outages.org> Subject: Re: [outages] 111 8th Avenue I'm aware it's an airport code, but those tend to be used in the general region of an airport so it's not always super specific as to an exact location.
