Big fiber cut due to manhole(s) explosion(s) in NYC/Union Square

We've had a transport link down since 09-26 02:39 EDT leaving Montreal going to Manhattan. The only source of news from this fiber cut is the carrier via its partner. I've found this piece of news<http://pix11.com/2016/09/26/manhole-explosion-causes-hundreds-to-lose-power-in-union-square/> that matches with the even but that's it. Updates from the master ticket are basically saying "we don't have access to the manholes because they need to be rebuilt", "can't re-route because other nearby conduits can't be jointed togheter" and "no ETR yet". I was wondering if someone nearby had any idea of what's really going. Last I got from our supplier: The latest update from the provider is that they are still working and a total of 9 un-damaged CON-ED Manholes have been inspected for cable replacement so far out of which one has been failed and should be addressed by End Of Business hours. Once the two Manholes that were damaged by fire are repaired, they too will be inspected and cleared for cable replacement. These two manholes are scheduled to be inspected and cleared by late evening on 29th Sep 2016 . Once inspection is done; the fiber crews will be able to enter the man hole to start performing fiber restoration. At this time, there is no ETR for fiber repairs to be completed. RORY FALLOON SNR. Well, Manhole fire on Union street in Montreal, took a year to fix the whole thing before that path could be used for diversity again. 5 days, you're lucky =D ----- Alain Hebert ahebert@pubnix.net PubNIX Inc. 50 boul.
