Based on this information, it would be my recommendation that status pages indicate whether their status is updated manually or automatically, and how often.
And if the purpose of such status pages on websites for such vendor was to actually provide information, rather than to give the vendor's unwashed customer base a warm, moist feeling, then that would be a great idea. :-) Cheers, -- jra
