Here's the latest I have on this one from one of my ISPs: Subsequent updates from our carrier reveal that a critical piece of conduit infrastructure between Cleveland and Akron was critically damaged by a construction crew. Our underlying carrier is currently underway with repair of the cut affecting multiple carriers in the Cleveland/Akron Ohio region. We will provide additional updates as they are available. We got this update from our upstream who uses XO We can confirm that it was a fiber cut between Illinois and Ohio. Splicing crews are onsite and are pulling slack. Just talked with XO. Here is the latest Fiber cut Cleveland area. They are in the process of splicing the fiber. Some metro traffic is starting to restore. Long haul traffic is still down.
