[Down] grc.com https,http,nntp others ?

Forgive me if this is a repetition of another thread but does anyone have any information on grc.com outage ? I don’t see anything enlightening across some other lists and it appears its been down for quite some time.

Confirmed down from RoadRunner Tampa; http, icmp. DNS still valid. Steve's personal Twitter account poster to 5 July; I'll ping him. ----- Original Message -----

how is this persons website being down significant operationally to network operators? On Sat, Jul 9, 2016 at 8:54 PM, Jason Hellenthal via Outages < outages@outages.org> wrote:

Steve Gibson hosts a popular security podcast called "Security Now" (https://twit.tv/sn). It's likely that there's significant crossover between the listeners of his podcast and the membership of this list. His website suffered a severe DDOS a few months ago, so unless we hear otherwise chances are good that it's another DDOS. its not a question of who he is or what his website is about. it just really doesnt seem like its a "outage" in the the sense of internet infrastucture http://www.outages.org/page/index/2 does this really seem like an outage report that all ISP/NSP groups need to be alerted about? +1 - unless it could impact the servicing of our collective customers - I'm not sure the scope is relevant to this list. Maybe we should start a randomwebsitedown@outages.org<mailto:randomwebsitedown@outages.org> list for this type of stuff. Happy Saturday! <moderator> Outages at public websites which are likely to generate queries to support desks have been declared on-topic, and, while this site might be important to network people (or not, depending on your personal opinion of Gibson, an even more polarizing personality than ESR :-), it's probably right on the edge of being on topic for this list. So we can probably pinch it at this point. </moderator> Cheers, -- jra -- Jay R.
