CrowdStrike just BSODed thousands, if not millions, of Windows machines all over the world. Reports across the US, Oceania, and India at the least, https://www.reddit.com/r/crowdstrike/comments/1e6vmkf/bsod_error_in_latest_c... Expect collateral damage to networks that are supported by services running on Windows. _______________________________________________ Outages mailing list Outages@outages.org https://puck.nether.net/mailman/listinfo/outages

Confirmed that this is massive in scale. Nearly every airline is down right now. I live in Las Vegas and all of the casinos are essentially shut down also. Broadcasters and TV stations are off the air as well. https://www.cnn.com/webview/business/live-news/global-outage-intl-hnk/index.... Delta flipped to manual attendants and paper check ins, still running though. At least in Pittsburgh. -bruce ________________________________ From: Outages <outages-bounces@outages.org> on behalf of Doug Roberts via Outages <outages@outages.org> Sent: Friday, July 19, 2024 3:49:12 AM To: outages@outages.org <outages@outages.org> Subject: Re: [outages] CrowdStrike BSOD Confirmed that this is massive in scale. Anyone know an easy way to offer up hands on keyboard to local municipalities? I posted on a few local social media sites but i'm not sure anyone even has time to look. I was going to try to call Local PD but i'm not sure they even want to be bothered by it. On Fri, Jul 19, 2024 at 8:05 AM Chris Adams via Outages <outages@outages.org> wrote:

Potentially the fix Crowdstrike rolled out at 6 AM-ish may have propagated fast enough to reach computers that hadn’t been logged into yet. We’re getting updates that 1 or up to 4 reboots fixes it for Windows workstations. Servers aren’t having the same luck, unfortunately. What’s the link, if any, to the Azure outage? I’m guessing $lots of machines rebooting at the same time triggered an overload? _______________________________________________ Outages mailing list Outages@outages.org https://puck.nether.net/mailman/listinfo/outages
