Internet Issues in Southeast

My users, geographically nearby, are having issues accessing resources at our facility in South Alabama and another facility in Columbus Georgia from residential connections on Comcast and Verizon, possibly others. I have confirmed it from my own home connection with Comcast as well. High latency (from 180 ms to a peak of 13400 ms) and periods of complete packet loss as well, all happening when traversing Level3 or GTT in Atlanta. Is there a known issue occurring or could someone weigh in on this?

My Home Comcast internet has been down since 8AM EST at my house in Tallahassee. We have no reports of business clients using Comcast being down or alerts from monitoring. Checked my account Service State with Comcast and this is the message on the page. "An XFINITY Internet outage has been reported in your area. We're working hard to get your service up and running. The issue will be resolved within the next 3 hours." On Thu, Jan 31, 2019 at 10:52 AM Michael Gates via Outages < outages@outages.org> wrote:

Your actual end-to-end packet loss in that first example is 0.1% and average RTT is 87.3. That's not great, but it's not awful, either. Then again, packet loss on VPNs always feels worse. The Level 3 router at hop 7 is clearly not happy responding to ICMP at the moment, but it doesn't seem to be affecting traffic going through it.
