May be totally unrelated, but I know very recently, there was a MAJOR fiber cut in Newark region (killed off a LOT of regional air traffic control.) Was a bundle of some 300 cables. Just given that incident recently, in the same region, always raises suspicions, as we all know, a cut that big will take a while to fully resolve and fix. Please exercise caution when clicking on links or opening attachments. Around 10:20 AM Eastern time what looks like all of my sites on Spectrum lost communication with services hosted on VPSes in Linode's Newark region. When I dig in to it I can see the VPSes are receiving traffic from these sites and responding to it, but if I run a packet capture on the WAN interface at the site I do not see those responses. Traceroutes from the affected VPSes to any of the Spectrum IP addresses I have available all drop dead within the Linode network so it looks to me like a routing issue on Linode's side. I also show other services having a blip around the same time but coming back almost immediately. ______________________________________________ Outages mailing list outages@outages.org Sign up for an account https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Flists.outages.org%2Faccounts%2Fsignup%2F&data=05%7C02%7Cbruce.orcutt%40utsa.edu%7C77742f24738f49df27ef08df1a52a39b%7C3a228dfbc64744cb88357b20617fc906%7C0%7C0%7C639258614398154081%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=DUdpyPKVOz2b82sMUzke%2FF8P6eVWn7Y4CMGqv3tJMH8%3D&reserved=0<https://lists.outages.org/accounts/signup/> To subscribe send an email to outages-join@outages.org To unsubscribe send an email to outages-leave@outages.org To contact the list owners outages-owner@outages.org Archives https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Flists.outages.org%2Farchives%2Flist%2Foutages%40outages.org%2F&data=05%7C02%7Cbruce.orcutt%40utsa.edu%7C77742f24738f49df27ef08df1a52a39b%7C3a228dfbc64744cb88357b20617fc906%7C0%7C0%7C639258614398180509%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=mkOGa1QlgepFtgShDT5bS4cDhmixVxT4JM0vGkkGdk0%3D&reserved=0<https://lists.outages.org/archives/list/outages@outages.org/> Thank you for using Outages Lists!
