comcast dns outage?

Anyone else having issues with the comcast resolvers? 68.87.77.130 68.87.72.130 are the two I am concerned about... - Jared -- Jared Mauch | pgp key available via finger from jared@puck.nether.net clue++; | http://puck.nether.net/~jared/ My statements are only mine.

Both appear down to me (lookups failing) from Chicago-area comcast connections. On Sun, Dec 5, 2010 at 7:32 PM, Jared Mauch <jared@puck.nether.net> wrote:

While they're reachable on comcast's network from Boston, neither (WI or IL servers) appear to be answering DNS requests, imb

I was also having the same issue - switched my DNS to use Google's public DNS servers (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4) and all is good now. fyi: just saw Tweets from @ComcastCares that evidently, Mn, IL & MI all seem to be having issues and that Comcast is working on a fix. -- *Colleen Velo email: cmvelo@gmail.com* * * On Sun, Dec 5, 2010 at 7:52 PM, Michael Butler <imb@protected-networks.net>wrote:

Interesting. No issues showing from the Comcast.net DNS page. I also don't see either of those IP addresses listed there. http://dns.comcast.net/status.php -Matt On Dec 5, 2010, at 8:52 PM, Michael Butler wrote:

Comcast confirms the issue: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r25163231- The above post also confirms their "status" page is not a real-time monitor, which means it shouldn't be relied upon. It's hard to suggest that their NOC isn't competent over something like this. Whose responsibility is communication to the customer? Most NOC's are only responsible for acting as middle-men to alert engineers when a problem appears, or to solve basic issues. Let's leave the pejorative remarks at the door, please.

I can't reach those (from Comcast in Oregon). I've been having intermittent DNS issues out here too tonight, I switched to Google DNS. On Sun, Dec 5, 2010 at 5:32 PM, Jared Mauch <jared@puck.nether.net> wrote:
