AT&T data outage (05/29/2009)

Currently experiencing an outage on the AT&T cellular data network (both 3G and EDGE) on southern Oregon. Reports from various friends say it's also down in eastern Oregon, western Washington, and southern and northern California. Getting assigned IPs via DHCP, but no connectivity beyond what appears to be the access edge. Telovations iTSP outage in Tampa FL

We get outsourced telephone service from Telovations in Tampa, and at 0950EDT today, they had *something* break. Since I can still get to my voicemail boxes from outside the building, I assume it's their data service to customer sites, and not the voice service into them. Since it's multiple sites, I assume it's some aggregated data facility of DS-3 level or higher. I don't know if they get it directly from Verizon or from some reseller -- though since it's clear-channel data, maybe not. Anyone in Tampa heard anything today? Megapath/Covad outage - SoCal

Megapath reports an outage to Covad users routing out of Southern California area (Los Angeles and surrounding areas). This is due to a fiber cut. There is no ETR. Megapath master ticket #3263505.

AT&T cell phone outage in Boston area?

I cannot seem to make or receive calls to/from any at&t cell phone in the Boston area. However, I do not have access to a ton of phones right now, so it could be selection bias. (Although it's not clear how AT&T would know who my friends are.) Anyone else having issues? -- TTFN, patrick

AboveNet Long Haul Issue

Dear AboveNet Customer, Abovenet has experienced a network event. Start Date & Time: 05/23/2009 9:15AM EST Event Description: Long Haul outage between Chicago and Denver. We are currently working with our vendor to isolate the problem, there is no Estimated time or resolution (ETR) at this time. We will send out periodic updates as they become available.

Level3 in the Midwest

I just got saw Level3 in the Wichita area get cut off from the greater part of Level3. Anyone know what's going on? We've received several maintenance notifications about fiber being moved in Missouri along a railroad but those were supposed to be completed last week, according to the GCRs. Justin

In what area?
