Hi,
I have customer with Verizon having either DNS resolution issues or
return traffic back to them is not being received. I suspect that the
Verizon DNS resolvers are going though the same path that the return
traffic is going down. I have/am working on contacting my upstreams. The
numbers I have found to call version have failed as I do not have an
account.
Maybe someone here has some information, or has a way to help?
two know IP's that I am unable to reach are: 72.83.97.146 and 100.18.11.5
Sample traceroute from me 208.77.208.1 / AS13438:
traceroute to 72.83.97.146 (72.83.97.146), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets
1 216.243.28.217 11.431 ms 11.387 ms 11.933 ms
2 174.127.149.137 12.008 ms 11.941 ms 11.902 ms
3 69.174.9.189 11.294 ms 11.293 ms 11.237 ms
4 89.149.130.78 11.126 ms 89.149.130.54 12.343 ms 14.100 ms
5 204.148.146.45 11.284 ms 11.216 ms 11.262 ms

This does not seem to be isolated to me. One of my upstreams confirmed
they could not ping one of the above IP's and if you check out this
remote IP testing site you can see it doesn't seem to be able to reach
it from the two Seattle ISP's. (You can click "Show" on the line to see
traceroute details)

Thank you to anyone in advance that reviews or looks into this.
Sincerely,

Got a ton of reports from friends in Mexico and Colombia that Whatsapp is not
working for them.

Our gear dropped, and I'm hearing they had two UPS failures. They're
supposedly running on generator, but our stuff hasn't come back yet.

Good evening.
Anyone has info on the storms?
So far our data center near Dallas has been running on generator power all
day.

Looks like a isolated outage, as I’m still up on other floors, but lost cogent.
Cogent PHL01 Hub is down/isolated. Broken water pipe in floor above has caused catastrophic outage causing a floor wide electrical outage on floor with PHL01. Cogent FE/techs on site. Building has techs on site and is dispatching electricians to troubleshoot and restore. All Cogent hub PHL01 equipment is currently without power. NOC contacting NOC Ops Mngt at this time. No ETR to report.

I have a zone that gets dynamic updates on my server and then the Linode
ns[1-5].linode.com (which I believe are managed by Cloudflare) are
secondaries, but the Linode servers aren't properly propagating the
updated data. I made a change over an hour ago, yet most queries to the
Linode servers are still returning the old data. It varies because
there is more than on server handling requests for each IP (so sometimes
I do see the updated data, but not most of the time).
I see the IXFRs in my logs, but they don't seem to be properly
distributing the updated zones in their systems. This is keeping me
from getting a Let's Encrypt DNS-01 validated cert right now.
These updates normally take 1-2 minutes to propagate.
I've opened a Linode ticket but haven't had any response.

Anyone else noticing issues with connections from Verizon to Comcast and Vice Versa? On the East Coast and seeing issues across some of our customers VPNing from Comcast homes to Verizon offices, and same the other way. I ran a few tracerts and noticed that Comcast could get to Alter but dropped there, and Verizon never left its network.

I'm not sure the exact scope but I'm seeing issues with Verizon
enterprise internet in northern Virginia for a customer, started for
them around 8:24am and we just got an update on the ticket indicating it
was related to a "major outage" in ticket tracked by 2024031205308.
anyone know of any fiber cuts in the area or other details?
